Day 1

Day 1 13NOV08was a very busy day. It started early in the morning with a chest x-ray and an ultrasound. We had no idea anything was wrong at this time, it was a routine test because he had an enlarged spleen. The xray showed a medial stinal mass (cancerous tumor) in his chest that was very large. We rushed him to the Pediatric Oncologist, Dr. Wynn, who initial diagnosed Lymphoma. We were admitted straight into the Pediatric Oncology Unit at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital. Before the night was over Josh had an IV, A CT scan, and and another chest xray. We got a preliminary diagnoses of Lymphoma and Leukemia. Our good friend Dr. Robelli came up from the ER to help us make sense of all the big words.
