Day 6 Update 18NOV08

We are still at TGH PICU. Josh woke up at 4:30 and wanted pancakes at 5:00 am. Lo and behold the food service lady brought pancakes. Josh was happy. Joshua's xray showed that the tumor was almost completely reduced and his labs were good for 24 hours straight. We spent the day waiting to be transfered back to St. Josephs. Josh got another ambulance ride and arrived back at Pediatric Oncology around 6:30 pm. Josh was very happy to be back and smiled at the nurses. His white blood cell count is now below 500 which puts him at a great risk for infections, everyone has to wear masks and we have washed our hands hundreds of times so far. I can guarantee based on our research that it is indeed impossible to scrub the skin off. Josh, Renee, and Lee would like to add a special thanks for the wonderful nurses of TGH PICU. They are truly a credit to their profession and were very attentive to Joshua's needs while he was in their care. Thanks to Kim for her kindness and compassion while giving Joshua dialysis, to Cindy for his Chemo, Valerie, Samantha, and Amanda his night Nurses for watching over him while he slept, to Leanne, Elizabeth, and Dawn for taking great care of him during the daytime. You will all forever have our gratitude. Thanks to Dr. Riggs and Dr. Weekly for everything that they did.

Hey Snuggle Monkey,

So glad you are back at St. Jo's! I love seeing so many pictures of you. It's almost like being with you. Give your Dad a big hug from me for this wonderful treat.

Can you eat pancakes like the guy in the video Uncle Eric sent?

I am constantly thinking about you and sending lots of hugs and kisses to you. Hope they all arrive safely with their masks in place.

Have the very best day you can.

Love,

Gramma Linda
