Day 3

Day 3  15NOV08 Josh got a Lumbar Puncture (spinal tap) to check for the presence of Leukemia cells in his spinal fluid and to begin receiving part of his chemotherapy. The drug he was given to put him to sleep was apparently a good ride, when he woke up he wanted to know why mommy had two mouths and two noses and four eyes... The Doctors were worried about his Kidneys and  Dr. Campos a Nephrologist was called in.  His kidneys were having a hard time dealing with the by-products of the tumor and we were transfered by ambulance (Josh's first ambulance ride) to Tampa General Hospitals PICU for Pediatric Dialysis. We began cleaning his blood at 10:50 pm for three and a half hours. He slept through the whole procedure. Afterwards his kidneys were functioning normally and his labs were looking better.
