Back Home!!... Day 241 11JUL09

True to their word the Doctor's released Joshua this morning to come home. He made it home right at lunch time. It was great to see him walking in the front door after his long stay at the hospital. He was gone for 16 days, the longest span he has ever spent in the hospital. It feels like he has been gone for months. This was a tough separation for all of us. But now we have our Joshua back where he belongs at home so he can rest and get his counts back up. He managed to get his ANC up to 216 today, he needs to get up to at least 750 so he can qualify for maintenance on Wednesday. I think with a little rest and some good food he will make it just fine.

We left the hospital without any answers, the lab results are still not back so we will have to wait until Wednesday to learn anything new. It can be really frustrating and frightening when we do not know why things happen to Joshua. Some things have no answer, every child responds differently to chemo. We need answers but we may not get them.

The important thing is Joshua is feeling good and eating well. He looks a little tired from his stay but he will catch up on his rest soon enough. For now I am just glad he is home.
