Port problems... Day 298 06SEP09

Joshua has been having port problems since last night. His port has been acting like it is blocked when they try and draw blood from him. After trying several things throughout the day it started functioning again correctly this evening. His temperature is still not behaving and he is running fevers as son as the tylenol wears off. The recurring fevers means more blood cultures to check for possible infections. Tomorrow we will spend yet another holiday in the hospital. There have been so many we are losing count. We are still awaiting the results from all the tests that were run late last night.

Joshua is his usual remarkable fashion is back to having fun. He had an all out nerf dart war with Aimee and Deesa this afternoon while we were at the hospital. There were darts everywhere and we were all laughing hysterically. Our family at the hospital is wonderful and they make Joshua's life so much better. We are very lucky to have such great nurses to take care of our Joshua.

Here are some pictures of the start of our weekend.

The pictures look like a great start for a long, fun weekend. And even though your trip was cut short Joshy, im glad the nurses are making your stay worth wild!! =) Nerfy wars hu....I wonder who started them.... ;) Looks like you are doing good as far as your spirits love bug.

I hope that they can fix your port from acting up again! Ok we are in full cold dance mode dude! That darn fever just needs to be danced away hu monkey butt. ;) Well we would love to come visit you, but guess what... i have a stinkin cold. Just a cough and some congestion, hoping it goes away soon. So keep up the spirits and kicking that cough and fever right in the butt!

Hey Snuggle Monkey,

Well, I guess if Jamie can start dancing to shoo away your fever, so can I. I'll get all my friends to start dancing right away and see if we can't send that stinkin' fever to a very hot place and make it stay there!

I love it that you seem able to have fun no matter where you are. What a wonderful gift! And you so gladly share it with everyone.

Hang tough Mighty Warrior - you are The Champion. Keep kickin' butt.

Tons of Love, Hugs and Kisses,

Nonna

I thought you wer in the land of the Mouse until I read this - CANCER SO TOTALLY SUCKS - it looked like you were going to have a great time - I love the goofy hat and the princess Renee.

I agree toat you have a great family at the hospital and they will help you get better soon. I'll be dancing for you, too.

Take care, buddy, and I'll call your Mom tomorrow to see how the fight is going against this nasty infection. Love, Laura & Frank
