Getting closer... Day 116 08MAR09

Joshua is inching closer to being able to come home for a while. Tomorrow will mark his eighth day in the hospital. Renee says we always stay eight days so tomorrow we get to come home. I hope she is right.

Josh had a temp of 100.7 this afternoon but it had dropped to 99.8 by the time he fell asleep. If he can keep it down through the night the doctors will probably let him get out of there. If it comes back he may be stuck for a little longer. His ANC is up to 1520 so he is doing great in that respect. We are still working on the eating.

He is scheduled to go back on Tuesday for the next round of chemo, so if he gets out it will only be for what is left of the day. Tuesday is all outpatient so at least he will come home at the end of the day.

Jarrod and I spent the day cleaning the house in anticipation of Josh coming home. Truth be told it really needed cleaning anyway but Josh is a great motivator :)

Jarrod and I are a great team and can get lots of stuff done together. I am so lucky to have him. Not only is he a great companion but he is a wonderful helper. And he works for ice cream!!!

Way to go!! Awesome on the count and low fever. I sure hope you get to go home tomorrow. It can get pretty boring in the hospital and your own bed or sofa is so much more comfortable. Josh, it's great the closeness you have with Jarrod. He's a fantastic big brother! Jarrod you are so wonderful helping do so many things for your family.

Renee & Lee - you are awesome parents and you can see it in your sons. Love to all, Laura & Frank

Yo Jarrod,

I could have told your Dad what a great person you are! Always (well, almost always) happy, loving, giving - you are going to make a teriffic Daddy and you already make a wonderful brother and son.

It was great to see pictures of you with Joshua.

Cousin Dylan says hello.

Tons of Love, Hugs and Kisses,

Nonna

Hey Snaggle Snuggle Monkey,

I am so happy to hear your counts are up. Just wish you could muster an appetite.

I've got everything I can crossed in hopes you get sprung from the hospital. And stay sprung.

Hang in there and keep fighting. You are doing a marvelous job kicking that stinking cancer into never never land.

And cousin Dylan says hello to you as well.

Tons of Love, Hugs and Kisses,

Nonna

I certainly drop by every day to see how everything is going. Saying a prayer sure helps. Hope the temp stays down, and the rest are up. My thoughts are with you.
