  • Birthday fish… Day 1069  21OCT11

Today was my birthday so we decided to celebrate by going fishing, what else? The boys and Renee got up early and fixed a nice breakfast so I could start off the day with a full tummy. It was yummy. As soon as we were finished we packed up in the car and headed for the other side of the bay to go fishing. It just so happens that today was also the Steve Yerrid Kid's Fishing Derby. We had tried to attend the past several years but something has always come up and we have been unable to make it. The weather was perfect for being outside and the boys had a great time. We saw lots of our cancer family including several people we haven't seen in quite some time. There was a parade, ice cream, casting practice, lunch, and of course fishing. Joshua caught six fish and Jarrod got a couple as well. We all enjoyed being outside and watching all the precious cancer kids having so much fun.

Our favorite mascot ThunderBug!

When it was all over we headed for home to rest  and relax for the rest of the day. It truly was a great birthday and a chance for me to spend some memorable time with the boys and Renee.
