Jarrod and I took a step back in time this morning. We traveled back to the Middle Ages at the Renaissance Faire. This was a field trip for the World Cultures class that he is taking online at the virtual school. We witnessed great merriment and feats of chivalry and bravery at arms. Man have we come a long way from those humble beginnings. It was fun. Kind of makes you want to go out and buy a sword and a really big hat with some cool feathers in it.
Joshua's ANC blew up today. It went from 221 yesterday to an astounding 1190 this morning. I guess the G-CSF finally kicked in. I heard cheers from all the hard working guys in the control room.
Unfortunately the fever has decided to kick up a notch. He was at 101.4 this evening so we start a whole new set of blood cultures to check for infections.
We also extend our stay. See why fevers just make our spines tingle? Here we are at a week and counting.
It comes in to sharp focus when the nurse you had when you came in has taken five days off and come back to work and she is our nurse again.
Josh's attitude is staying pretty good, he is still picking at his food and not eating enough. His weight had actually dropped a little this morning. We are still searching for the magical food item that he will eat endlessly. In the meantime we are keeping a healthy stock of tuna salad close by.

Well i hope to see you soon and hope that you keep that count up which is great!! I love you Keep that bright big smile and stay strong. =)
Josh, It was great to visit with you and your mom today. Well darn it - I thought for sure the fever would beat a retreat when the ANC jumped to 1190. It's gonna happen, I just know it:)
Jarrod, I am so envious of the field trip. Like Jamie, lived here forever & never been. It had to be so cool. I know you and your dad loved having some time away from all the madness, if in physical form only, because we know your hearts and minds are always with the family.
Keep your chin up buddy! Love, Miss Laura
Hey Snaggle Snuggle Monkey,
7 million lashes to that stinking fever and an equal amount of kudos to the guys in the control room!
Hopefully today will bring everything back to normal.
Keep fighting Joshua. And please find something to eat. You look like you're just about to blow away. I almost wish they'd put you back on the steroids just so you could eat. Oh, well...
Tons of Love, Hugs and Kisses,
Nonna
