Joshua got up early and headed off for the clinic. I got up and started making food to take to him for his stay in the hospital. Just as it was about done Renee called, he didn't qualify. His ANC was only 462, he needs to be over 750 to get the next round of chemo.
We were all disappointed. I know that sounds really strange. We were unhappy that our child was not going to get a needle stuck in his spine. Unhappy that he was not going to be pumped full of toxic drugs. Unhappy that he was not going to spend another night in the hospital.
Yeah that about sums it up.
I guess we look a things a little differently now. It is the way we are. It was no big surprise that he didn't make it. Most kids don't at this point in the treatment cycle.
So now we are on hold until next Wednesday when we will try all over again.
So Joshua and Renee came home and he spent the day relaxing and doing a little artwork. He feels fine and we had no indications that his counts were low. He gets a week break now from chemo and should have a chance to get back on his feet count wise before we start up again. We hate interruptions in his treatment plan but we are learning to tolerate them pretty well. Josh was okay with the whole thing and I am sure will enjoy his hard won reprive.

Bummer about the delay! And I agree with your Dad - it's totally wierd to be disappointed you aren't going to get pumped full of toxic stuff. Oh well.

Im sorry monkey butt that you didnt get qualified. =( That stinks, well at least you get to have a whole week to rest up and get those counts up high!! =) I loved talking to you on the phone you should be mommys little secretary ; ). Oh and i got my I LOVE YOU haha. =)
Well i hope to see you guys this weekend love bug just all depends on how Christian is feeling and i might be coming down with it to. =( I know we gotta kick his butt for giving me what ever he has. Well i love you guys and i will be sure to let you know whats going on.
